Marketplace Feed Management
How to Create and Export a Marketplace Feed

Marketplace Product Management in MerchPIM helps your team manage product data across multiple marketplaces and generate structured, marketplace-ready feeds without relying on manual spreadsheets.
Instead of exporting raw Shopify data and rebuilding feed logic for every channel, MerchPIM lets you create dedicated marketplace outputs using flexible field mapping and marketplace-specific product edits.
This keeps your Shopify catalog clean and controlled, while each marketplace receives product data tailored to its exact requirements.
Key Benefits
With Marketplace Product Management, your team can:
- Prepare marketplace-ready product data directly from your Shopify catalog
- Reduce listing errors, formatting issues, and marketplace rejections
- Replace manual spreadsheets with structured, repeatable workflows
- Make marketplace-specific changes without altering your core Shopify data
- Reuse templates and mappings to launch faster across multiple channels
Supported Marketplaces
MerchPIM currently supports feed generation for:
- Google Shopping
- eBay
- Walmart
Additional marketplace integrations may be added in future updates.

Before You Begin
Before creating a feed, ensure that:
- Your Shopify store is connected to MerchPIM
- Products include required fields such as SKU, title, and price
- Your catalog data is organized and ready for export
For best results, prepare a feed mapping template for reuse across exports.
Step 1 — Create a Marketplace Feed
- Open MerchPIM
- Navigate to Marketplace Feed Management
- Click Create Feed
- Select the destination marketplace
- Google Shopping
- eBay
- Walmart
- Choose the product group, collection, or catalog segment to include in the feed
This creates a dedicated feed configuration tailored for the selected marketplace.
Step 2 — Configure Field Mapping
Each marketplace requires specific product attributes and formatting. MerchPIM allows you to map your Shopify catalog fields to marketplace requirements.
You can map:
- Shopify product fields
- Variant fields
- Metafields
- Custom attributes
Example Mapping
Shopify Field | Marketplace Field |
|---|---|
Product Title | Title |
Description | Description |
SKU | Item ID |
Price | Price |
You can also configure:
- Prefixes or suffixes for product titles
- Formatting rules
- Price adjustments
- Attribute transformations
Once configured, save the mapping as a reusable feed template.
Step 3 — Apply Feed-Only Edits
Marketplace listings often require content variations that should not modify your Shopify catalog.
MerchPIM allows you to make feed-specific edits, including:
- Marketplace-specific titles
- Channel-specific descriptions
- Additional marketplace attributes
- Feed-specific pricing adjustments
These edits apply only to the exported feed, keeping your Shopify catalog unchanged.
Step 4 — Use Bulk Editing for Channel Preparation
When launching products to a new marketplace, you may need to adjust multiple SKUs at once.
Use the Bulk Editor to:
- Update titles across many products
- Add marketplace attributes
- Adjust pricing rules
- Apply tags or product filters
Bulk editing ensures your catalog is fully prepared for marketplace export without manual product-by-product updates.
Step 5 — Generate and Export the Feed
Once your mapping and adjustments are complete:
- Click Generate Feed
- Review the preview for validation errors
- Select the export format:
- XML
- CSV
- TSV
- Click Export Feed
The generated file can then be uploaded directly to the selected marketplace.
Best Practices
Use reusable feed templates
Create mapping templates so your team does not rebuild feed structures repeatedly.
Keep Shopify as the source of truth
Apply marketplace-specific edits inside the feed rather than modifying core product data.
Validate feeds before export
Check attribute mapping and formatting before publishing.
Prepare products using bulk edits
Ensure large product sets meet marketplace requirements quickly.
Troubleshooting
Feed rejected by marketplace
Verify that all required attributes are mapped correctly.
Missing product data
Ensure products include essential fields such as SKU, price, and title.
Incorrect formatting
Confirm the export format matches the marketplace requirements.
Attribute mismatch
Review your feed mapping template and adjust the field configuration.
